Thanks for the introduction to Santini. I've long felt that ironically, album covers had more artistic latitude than their corresponding albums. With the albums, there were record deals, expectations, music licensing and production balances to consider. With the album covers, it was a lot more, "I dunno, slap on whatever we think will sell more copies." I greatly enjoyed the work of Hipgnosis back in the day, which has a bit of a surreal bent to it as well.
Tganks James! Funny you mention Hipgnosis. The late Peter "Sleazy" Christopherson was a part of Hipgnosis, and was a member of Throbbing Gristle. He went on to form another all time favorite, Coil, with John Balance. They were friends with Steve Stapleton (aka Santini) and arguably their most famous album, Loves Secret Domain, features a Santini cover.

That’s rad, I had no idea! Music really is a small world.
Still at the letter D… definitely coming back for the deep dive. So much intriguing information. Thank you ☺️
Thanks for checking it out Marjorie!
nb. “Babs Santini” is the pseudonym of Steven Stapleton.
I perhaps could have spelled it out a bit better for people who are new to NWW ... but was trying to keep it mysterious.
